Veronica’s artwork shows her yearning for her culture.

Veronica Collins is a descendant of the Wiradjuri  Nation  She was born 1962 and lives in Griffith NSW.

Veronica began painting some years ago, using acrylic as her only medium.

Her work now encompasses sand which she was introduced to in 1999, charcoal, silk painting and mixed media, covering a variety of subject matter.

The main themes of Veronica’s paintings are geometric, design orientated portrayals of Creation and Dreaming.

“ I paint to engage the viewer to come with me on my journey of exploration of Wiradjuri Antiquities and I hope that through my artworks that Storytelling remains alive.  Strong colour dominates with clean crisp lines and the use of linear repetition and dots.”

As an emerging artist, Veronica has completed certificate 111 in an Aboriginal Arts class at the Riverina Institute of TAFE and have been accepted in various regional art competitions. Her artworks have been displayed on the cover of local magazines, a mural for public display and have had works shown in exhibitions at a local level.
